Small, quiet and out of the way
An office doesn’t need much ice, but it does need a tidy unit that won’t dominate a kitchenette or irritate whoever sits nearest to it. Most offices are well served by a single undercounter machine that makes and stores its own ice and gets on with it.
What suits an office
- Undercounter self-contained – makes and stores ice in one unit, fits under a bench, and plugs into a standard outlet.
- Ice and water dispensers – no scoop and no open bin, which is more hygienic in a shared kitchen.
- Allow around 0.7 kg per employee per day as a starting point.
Most units this size run on a standard 10 amp outlet, so there’s usually no electrical work involved — just water in and a drain.
